Those of us that live in the south see no end to our summer any time soon… well, at least not to the weather. But as our “official” summer draws to a close in the next few weeks as the kids go back to school we are reminded of those places that we may have enjoyed relaxing or gathering with family and friends. And I think that I can speak for many of us southerners that that place is the beach.

Many New Orleanians find refuge from the daily grind of summer with a short trip down the Gulf Coast to places like Gulf Shores, Pensacola, Destin, and Panama City. These beach towns stagger our senses with colors and textures and even scents, and when we return home those memories are refreshed by the same colors and textures and scents we interact with in our daily lives.
Fusion’s August Color Story evokes those same feelings of relaxation and beachfront bliss in what they like to call the “endless summer” colors. Blues and neutrals are the primary colors of the beach (apologies to the Emerald Coast) and that’s what this month’s pallet brings to life. Liberty Blue and Azure are both vibrant blues that can be used with other colors to add that certain beachy vibe to any room, and Sterling and Plaster are neutrals that can play off of one another. Sterling is typically a cool gray, but when put alongside Plaster it warms up.
